Singapore Laneway Festival 2017

This is the recap of my memory about St. Jerome's Laneway Festival 2017 in Singapore and information for festival goers!

Nice mix of international acts such as Glass Animals Indie rock band from Oxford known for its quirky sound, Nick Murphy (Chet Faker) Australian multi-instrumentalist, singer, song writer, and producer, Tourist (William Phillips) Grammy award winner for song of the year for co-written "Stay with me" by Sam Smith producer and song writer, Tycho American ambient electronic band, Whitney indie rock band from Chicago, and more.

Great outdoor venue The event located at the Meadow, Gardens by the bay. It is quite small and cozy compare to other music festivals. The best thing is Garden Stage and Bay stage located next to each other, so you can easily switch stages as you please. Unlike other music festival where there're many stages and your have to spare sometimes to walk from one stage to another and end up didn't get to watch full performance of your favorite acts! I consider that the most disappointing thing that could ever happen to festival goers!

All live acts have great visual accompaniment

Weather sucks! Rain Coat is a Must! It rained continuously from late afternoon until late evening.

Food & Drinks are available inside the venue.

Suggested Laneway Outfit light and flowy pieces with a touch of boho accessories to keep you comfy and chic all day long.

Taxi is the most convenient transportation from city center Take a taxi to Gardens by the bay then walk 7-10 mins to The Meadow. It's very easy as you will see the signs along the way leading you to the venue. Not sure about the direction? You can go to staff at the reception near taxi drop-off and pick-up.

For those who might be interested in attending the event next year, here's my Singapore Laneway Festival 2017 Budget break down (2 day 1 night) :

Tiger air round trip Bangkok-Singapore & Singapore - Bangkok: 4,221 THB
Amara Hotel: Approximately 2,000 THB per person 1 night
St. Jerome's Laneway ticket: 4,782 THB or 185 SG Dollar.
Transportation from airport to city center & city center to airport: 500 THB per person
Suggested Pocket Money 4,000 - 5,000 THB
Total Budget: 15,000 -16,000 THB

Have a great day!

Have You Heard presents Last Dinosaurs + Panama

Last Friday night, LIVE RAC was packed with fans of both Aussie bands "Last Dinosaurs" and "Panama". My friends and I were buying the tickets a month in advance since we are such a big fan of Panama and looking forward to seeing them live in Bangkok! The venue is pretty small but great. I personally love small venue because of the intimacy and I tend to feel more connected to the band playing on the stage.
Panama sounds awesome live as on their records and that prove how great they are as a world-class artist. Lighting and sound were great too. The duo delivered a very solid and upbeat performance from the beginning to end. It's beyond my expectation. However, I felt like their time on stage was a little too short, I really wish they could play more songs!

Last Dinosaurs was pretty great too but I didn't stay till the end. Overall, it was another really fun night!

Wonderfruit Festival 2015

Wonderfruit 2015--A 4 days music and lifestyle Festival is back for the second year after its first debut in 2014. Personally speaking, I thought of not going to Wonderfruit this time just because the only artist that I want see live performance is Rhye. Alsothe line-up was not as good as the first year. I am talking about the unforgettable performances of Woodkid, Little Dragon, De La Soul, and Jose Gonzalez in 2014. Having these international artists together in 1 event is like a dream!
I never thought that we would have this kind of event in Thailand. Though I was complaining a lot about the musical line-up, my friends and I ended up going there for the 2nd time in a row and I am happy to say we were not disappointed at all. In fact we really enjoyed ourselves and had a real great time.

Why Wonderfruit is worth a visit? It offers variety of interesting activities for everyone. Music, arts installation, adventure activities, food, festival fashion & accessories, special performances, craft & workshops, make-up, play ground for kids...You name it, they have it. Definitely the place to get inspired as it full of life and color! The only thing that annoyed pretty much everyone was the dirty dust in the air that my friends and I got sick after spending long hours for 3 days at Wonderfruit. Hence, for the festival to truly become "eco-friendly"they would have to work hard on growing more grass to have more green spaces in order to really reduce air pollution, improve mental and physical health. Apart from that most of the things have been improved. Especially the sound system which is a lot better than last year! So well done Wonderfruit!

Though I prefer last year line-up. There're several impressive performances. My favourite act was none other than Rhye. Milosh's soft soulful tone has us all swooning with joy. Besides, Submotion Orchestra, Harts and even local musicians like Pongsit Kumpee, Greasy Cafe, and Animal Machine were pretty awesome too! Here are some live performances that I've recorded. The quality of the videos is not the best but I just want to show you the great vibes!

Just can't ignore Harts' energetic performance and his insane guitar solo
Everyone's dancing to dope Electronic Drum 'n' Bass sounds of  Animal Machine

Jon Hopkins with full steam Laser light show
Another heartfelt performance by Greasy Cafe
Pongsit Kumpee got the crowds singing along to every song.

Karsh Kale's incredible light and sound drew me to Soi Stage
